Weighbridge House

The redevelopment of the former Southampton Hotel was completed in October 2015 with the new building comprising a ground floor bar/restaurant operated by the Liberation Group. Above are four floors of quality office accommodation which are now collectively known as Weighbridge House. The building was awarded the ‘Project of the Year Award 2016 over £3 million’ by the Jersey Construction Council (JeCC). The Comprop team were very proud that the works undertaken to retain the historical aspects of the building were recognised. This project was extremely challenging due to the retention of the listed facade and the excavation of a basement near to a road and adjacent hotel.

“This is an exciting opportunity. Through the restoration of the Southampton building to its former glory, we are supporting regeneration of this part of St Helier as well as complementing the other redevelopments which have already taken place in the area. It is another example of our ongoing commitment to investment into Jersey’s economy; which will provide much needed work for the construction industry. ”
